For the past 12 years Beyond Differences® has been working with adolescent students across the country to create a generation of social isolation disruptors. Through Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) curricula, student leadership and professional development, we’ve managed to reach over 3.5 million students at 8500 schools in all 50 states.

Hello Friendship will allow us to train even more teachers, inspire even more children and partner with even thousands more schools to reach our mission – to change the culture of school to be one of belonging and acceptance so everyone has a place to feel safe.

This simple shift can change a child’s life forever.

After coming back from a year of being so disconnected, wouldn’t we all do whatever we could to help children find their friendships again?

Meet One of Our National Teen Board Leaders

Lily is making an impact by learning how to freely express herself and apply this to her leadership roles in Beyond Differences®.

She has led discussions on social justice with her peers on the Teen Board, empowered others to forge strong friendships no matter each others’ differences, and mentored middle school students in the effort to end social isolation in their schools.

Lily

Lily first joined Beyond Differences® after attending a Teen Board retreat in 2018 as a sophomore in high school. When asked why she joined, she said,

“…the outpouring excitement and welcoming atmosphere made me feel valued and respected from day one, even as a shy first-year teen board member. This team has helped me come out of my shell and meet so many amazing new people.”

The Hello Friendship campaign was created to support our National Teen Board, with a focus on fostering friendships and connections. Our impact doesn’t end after a retreat or a No One Eats Alone® Day. Our impact carries forward to change cultures in every school nationwide, where each student feels like they belong and can build new and lasting friendships.
