For the past 12 years Beyond Differences has been working with adolescent students across the country to create a generation of social isolation disruptors. Through Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) curricula, student leadership and professional development, we’ve managed to reach over 3.5 million students at 8500 schools in all 50 states.

Hello Friendship will allow us to train even more teachers, inspire even more children and partner with even thousands more schools to reach our mission – to change the culture of school to be one of belonging and acceptance so everyone has a place to feel safe.

This simple shift can change a child’s life forever.

After coming back from a year of being so disconnected, wouldn’t we all do whatever we could to help children find their friendships again?

Save The Date: Fall Event – Thursday, November 4th at 5:30 PM (PT)

Meet two of Our National Teen Board Leaders

Lily and Chandler are making an impact by learning how to freely express themselves and apply this to their leadership roles in Beyond Differences.

They have led discussions on social justice with their peers on the Teen Board, have empowered others to forge strong friendships no matter each others’ differences and mentored middle school students in the effort to end social isolation in their schools.

Chandler

Before Chandler joined Beyond Differences as a Teen Board member, he was an eighth grade Beyond Differences club ambassador at his middle school. He co-led No One Eats Alone™ Day in 2019.  When asked about what attracted him to Beyond Differences, he said,

“It’s a safe space to be supported and somewhere I can freely express myself and feel empowered to explore my personal identity.”

Lily

Lily first joined Beyond Differences after attending a Teen Board retreat in 2018 as a sophomore in high school. When asked why she joined, she said,

“…the outpouring excitement and welcoming atmosphere made me feel valued and respected from day one, even as a shy first-year teen board member. This team has helped me come out of my shell and meet so many amazing new people.”

The Hello Friendship campaign was created to support our National Teen Board, with a focus on fostering friendships and connections. Our impact doesn’t end after a retreat or a No One Eats Alone™ Day. Our impact carries forward to change cultures in every school nationwide, where each student feels like they belong and can build new and lasting friendships.

Please look at our National Awareness Days and SEL curriculum information. And stay up to date on how we’re making an impact by following us on social media!  We appreciate you!
